The lonely stoner has been voted the 43rd Top CelebStoner. Kid Cudi,
who rose to fame in 2009 with his Top 10 album, Man on the Moon: The
End of the Day, and hit single, "Day 'N' Nite," prefers indicas.
"The head high doesn't do it for me," says the Brooklyn-born rapper.
"I need the whole situation."
Born in Cleveland on Jan. 30, 1984, Scott Mescudi began rapping at a
young age. After dropping out of college, he moved to Brooklyn and
soon released his mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi. The buzz continued to
build as he recorded his debut album and appeared on Kanye West's 808s
& Heartbreak.
But it was "Day 'N' Nite," with the chorus lyric, "The lonely loner
seems to free his mind at nite," that was Cudi's breakthrough. (Note
in the video the word stoner is changed to loner.)
"I smoke weed to keep me sane," Cudi says. "If I wasn't high 99.9% of
time, then I don't know, man. I makes me just numb to all the bullshit."
He's currently working on Man on the Moon: The Legend of Mr. Rager.
